Nottingham’s NHS hospitals have an impressive reputation and the Nottingham Breast Unit, housed at the City Hospital, is considered one of the leading breast cancer centres in Europe (which is why I’ve made the city my home!)

In addition, Nottingham is also home to several highly regarded private hospitals; the Nottingham Nuffield hospital and the Park hospital (part of the BMI medical group).

Nottingham itself is conveniently located in the centre of the UK, just two hours from London by train and 20 minutes from East Midlands Airport. The city also offers an excellent choice of shopping, entertainment and dining out, as well as landmarks like the famous Nottingham Castle, so it’s an ideal place for treatment and recuperation.

The Park Hospital

A lovely setting, an experienced specialist

The Park Hospital is a large, well-renown hospital set on the picturesque outskirts of Nottingham, just seven miles from the city centre. It has 91 in-patient beds and five modern, well-equipped theatres, as well as excellent Out Patient and Dressing Room facilities. Best of all, the Park Hospital is surrounded by woodland, so it’s a lovely place for both treatment and recuperation.

The very modern, highly regarded Nottingham Nuffield Hospital is just two miles away from Nottingham city centre with 40 in-patient beds and two well-equipped theatres. In addition, the hospital has an excellent Out Patient and Dressing Room Service, so you will be well cared for after your treatment.

The City Hospital

A dedicated team, a highly specialist service

As a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, I am based at the City Hospital, one of Nottingham’s NHS teaching hospitals and a leading centre for breast cancer care. In fact, the hospital has a reputation throughout Europe for its pioneering work in this area and is also home to the Nottingham Breast Institute.

I’m lucky enough to work with an established team providing patients with a comprehensive and often pioneering breast reconstruction service. Patients are cared for on the Gillies Ward; the specialist Plastic Surgery and Breast Surgery ward.
