Final Outcomes

Understanding outcomes and avoiding disappointment

Most operations go very well with the vast majority of patients being pleased with the results. However, patients vary in their suitability for operations in terms of potential outcomes. Your weight, stature, underlying bone structure and quality of your skin (loss of elasticity, sun damage) all contribute. Excellent candidates tend to get excellent results while moderate candidates tend to get moderate results. This will be discussed with you. It is also essential to make sure the timing of surgery is right for you. If you have recent life stresses such as separation or loss of a partner ensure your motivation for surgery is both realistic and appropriate. There can be no absolute guarantees of any operation and it is important to ensure a realistic expectation with surgery to avoid disappointment.

This list does not cover all potential complications but is aimed at informing of the things YOU can do to improve YOUR surgery. You will be given further information specific to the operation you are having.

I aim to be honest and provide safe, high quality cosmetic surgery. As the patient you need to be similarly honest with yourself and me and understand the advantages and potential disadvantages of surgery. If you have questions please ask them.
